Billions have been poured into AI, particularly at the foundation layer. But for many organisations, the practical day-to-day results are still missing.

The problem is less about access to AI, it’s about orchestration of that AI within workflows. For example, how do you connect powerful models with your existing tools, data sources, and workflows so they deliver measurable impact, not just experiments?

That’s the problem n8n solves. In short, it’s a tool that powers enterprise workflows.

The longer version: n8n is the AI orchestration platform that enables teams to go from promise to production. Its visual interface, pre-built integrations, and code-optional flexibility allow both engineers and business users to collaborate in building end-to-end systems. From automating support ticket triage to orchestrating dozens of complex processes across an enterprise, n8n is helping global teams turn AI into real outcomes: millions of euros saved, thousands of hours reclaimed, and 10× ROI delivered.

And the world is taking notice. Today, n8n announced a $180m Series C led by Accel, joined by Meritech, Redpoint, Evantic, NVIDIA’s NVentures, T.Capital — and us at Visionaries. The round marks the next chapter in a journey we’re so excited to support.

Jan’s ambition; our belief

We first met Jan Oberhauser, n8n’s founder and CEO in 2019, when the product was still an open-source automation framework, beloved by developers for its extensibility and fairness. But Jan’s vision was always bigger: to become the orchestration layer that connects not just apps, but people and AI systems across entire organisations.

That vision has been sharpened by the explosion of large language models. Where others rushed to bolt AI onto existing products, Jan and his team were already building the connective tissue enterprises now urgently need: secure, flexible infrastructure that lets AI plug into the way teams actually work.

The numbers speak for themselves. n8n’s community now exceeds 600,000 developers. Its Community Edition sits among the Top 40 GitHub repositories worldwide. And enterprise demand has surged, with over 80% of inbound requests now focused on AI orchestration.

Why n8n matters

AI will completely transform how companies operate, but only if it can be embedded deeply into workflows, rather than sitting in isolation. That requires collaboration between engineers and business teams, a way to shorten iteration cycles, and an architecture that puts data security and control at the core.

And n8n is that architecture. It’s the glue between LLMs, business tools, and data sources. It enables engineers to design robust systems, while empowering business users to configure prompts and agents directly. It reduces handoffs, accelerates experimentation, and turns AI into leverage that compounds.

In our conversations with customers, the excitement has been palpable: not just because AI is the buzzword to end all buzzwords (!) but because n8n is delivering measurable business value — at scale.

Investing in the infrastructure for enterprise AI

At Visionaries, we talk about how the world is only on ‘kilometre two’ of a marathon AI race. We still have a long way to go and everything is to play for (yes, even foundational models!) Right now, Europe has a unique opportunity to lead in AI at the application and workflow layer — the space where AI stops being abstract and starts driving real productivity.

That’s why we’re proud to be backing n8n in this round.

Jan and his team are building more than a product. They’re creating the infrastructure that will allow enterprises everywhere to orchestrate AI on their own terms, securely, flexibly, and with tangible impact.

The AI era won’t be won by those who can build the flashiest model. It will be won by those who can deploy it, orchestrate it, and make it work for people in their everyday lives. We believe this team will pilot that orchestration.
